Desk setup checker
Long gaming sessions are much more comfortable when your chair, desk and screen fit you. Enter your height for a starting point.
Your height
Quick checklist
- Your seat should support the front and back of your thighs evenly, with a small gap of 2 to 3 cm between the seat edge and the back of your knee.
- Keep your keyboard just below elbow height, and your mouse in line with your elbow.
- The top of your screen should be level with your eyes, about an arm's length away.
- Desk too high and can't change it? Raise your chair to match, and use a footrest if your feet no longer sit flat.
- Take regular short breaks and change position. Even the perfect setup gets uncomfortable if you never move.
The checklist follows the UK Health and Safety Executive's guidance on good posture at a screen. The heights are estimates based on average body proportions from the 2012 US Army anthropometric survey (ANSUR II), as summarised by the NC State Ergonomics Center. Everyone's body is different, so use these as a starting point and adjust until it feels right. This is general guidance, not medical advice.
